This project is at QitaiCountyin the northeast of Xinjiang. Located at the east ofChangjiHuiAutonomousPrefecture, it is to the east ofJimusaerCountyand to the west ofMuleiCounty. Qitai is 150km from the east to the west and 250km from the north to the south, covering a landmass of 19,300 square kilometers. Its geographical coordinates are: east longitude: 89°13′- 91°22′; north latitude: 42°25′- 45°29′.

        Qitai belongs to middle temperate continental semi-desert dry zone. With an annual average temperature of 5.5℃, the area’s average temperature in July is 22.6℃, with the highest reaching 39℃. Its average temperature in January is -18.9℃, with the lowest reaching -37.3℃. Its annual average relative humidity is 60%. The wind in this area is usually from the south, but the wind in hostile climate is generally from the northwest. The highest wind speed is level-12, with annual average wind speed reaching 2.9m/s. The frost-free period is averagely 153 days (from the last ten days in April to the first ten days in October). The annual average rainfall is 269.4mm.   

The total capacity of the project is 40MWp, with supporting projects that include a new 35KV switch station, installation of assembly brackets, foundation, road maintenance and so on. The power to be generated can be connected to the grid after the project is completed, with annual average utilization time reaching 1,327 hours.
